that the government have brought forward the start date for the test and trace from Monday 'til today (28th).

They are prepared to be humiliated about its unreadiness going into the weekend to try to get Cummings off the front pages and headlines by then.  They will change the debate to about that and confrontation with teaching unions.

Hancock will be in the firing line instead.  But 'that's preferable' is their decision.

Johnson said on live national television yesterday that “I’m not giving you a deadline right now. I have been forbidden from announcing any more targets”   (in answer to a request for when his commitment to 24h turnaround for test results). 

That's a person in the highest office in the land ... "forbidden".

SAGE people are quietly distancing themselves from this chaos too.
