I had a (mild) suspicion as to its overall efficacy, based on, well, what we have all read about it.
However.
In this Covid-19 crisis we (Ealing Covid-19 Mutual Aid) set up a series of kitchens to provide hot meals across the borough to the neediest, some in restaurant kitchens and some in community centres.
We ended up with some supply and logistics challenges.*
The Freemasons have been outstanding in their response to requests for help. Fair play.
I'd never join, but have to say it delivers some value to the community.
(*Getting single portion orange juice has been bizarre - competing against other voluntary organisations!)
