Professor Karol Sikora
We face risk every time we get out of bed. Alcohol, smoking, bad food, cars - there are plenty of things we live with that can do us harm. We can't hide from the danger Coronavirus poses forever, we have to learn to mitigate those risks so life can continue.

Last week 4361 fatalities were reported, but this is down from the peak week which had 6420. Why don't we release the recovery figures? We see the depressing cumulative death toll reported constantly, recovery numbers would give journalists something cheerful to talk about!

Lots of reports coming through that the London Nightingale hospital is being stood down. The Government must be confident that we are well past the peak, the graphs at the daily briefing do show a dramatic improvement in London. Thank goodness it wasn't required.

288 fatalities today - the lowest figure in well over a month and lower than the last 5 Mondays. Ignore the noise - there are fewer people losing their lives to Coronavirus every day. It is still far too many, but this is good news. The situation will continue to improve.
