...but there are two medical staff at HiD's hospital who have tested positive ( but who are asymptomatic) during last week's race for 100k, who had previously tested positive at a much earlier date.

I assume- but don't know for sure- that they had previously received a negative test after their first episde.

Plenty of anecdotal evidence- Dybala's case springs to mind- that either reinfection is possible, or that it can take longer than currently expected to clear completely and a relapse is possble.
