The good news is the securing of 7000 jobs, probably another 20,000 in the supply chains and the local communities up there. I lived up there just as the shipyards and mines were all collapsing and saw the devastation it caused.
the car industry is going through its biggest change / turmoil probably ever as petrol is being replaced by batteries and so of course change / modernisation / efficiency is going to take place but better that happens as part of the UK's green manufacturing future, rather than elsewhere.
